Ventilation rate

Ventilation rate is the amount of air a room, dwelling or other defined space is designed or measured to supply, extract or exchange over a given time.

Ventilation rate is the amount of air a room, dwelling or other defined space is designed or measured to supply, extract or exchange over a given time, usually shown as litres per second, cubic metres per hour or air changes per hour. It is an airflow quantity, not the same as airtightness, purge ventilation opening area, a mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) system label, heat pump output, planning permission, Building Regulations sign-off, roof structural suitability, DNO approval, MCS 020 sound compliance or proof that a property is healthy, safe, compliant or cheaper to run.
