Voltage complaint

A voltage complaint is a report to an electricity distributor that the supply voltage at a premises may be outside the permitted range, or that an event at the premises may have been caused by supply voltage outside that range. In GB electricity regulation, the voltage complaint standard sits with the DNO response to a suspected supply-voltage issue, not with an energy supplier's billing complaint. ESQCR (Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations) set the standard low-voltage supply at 230 V between phase and neutral with a permitted variation of +10% and -6% unless another arrangement has been agreed.
