Volumiser

A volumiser is a water vessel added to a heat pump heating circuit to increase the heating-system volume without necessarily acting as a hydraulic separator.

A volumiser is a vessel of heating-system water added to a heat pump circuit when the open system volume is not enough for the heat pump's minimum water-volume requirement. It adds system water volume for stable operation, defrost and low-load conditions, but it should not be read as a buffer tank or low-loss header unless the product is a combined volumiser/low-loss-header arrangement. The label is not a heat-loss calculation, pipework design, MCS certificate, commissioning record, warranty approval or proof that the system will run efficiently.
