Warranty exclusion

A warranty exclusion is a condition or limitation in a warranty document that says when the warranty will not apply, or when cover may be reduced, refused or voided. In home energy paperwork it can relate to product damage, unauthorised installation or modification, missing registration, maintenance requirements, misuse, unsuitable power sources or work carried out outside the manufacturer's instructions. It should be read with the claim process, handover records and any separate workmanship or financial-protection terms, because an exclusion is not a standalone verdict on a fault or a guarantee that a particular claim will be rejected.
