Water source heat pump

A water source heat pump is a heat pump that takes heat from water such as a lake, pond, river or another suitable water source and raises it to a useful temperature for heating and sometimes domestic hot water. If a datasheet or scheme document uses WSHP (water source heat pump), the term identifies the heat source and collector or heat-exchanger arrangement, not approval, grant eligibility, MCS certification, environmental consent, water abstraction licensing or proof that a property has a suitable water source.
