Andersen A2 is a tethered home EV charger whose Type 2 cable is stored inside the enclosure. It is the current Andersen option for a three-phase 22 kW unit or for a 7 kW unit with a longer cable than A3.
Power and cable versions
The single-phase version is rated at 7 kW and is offered with a 5.5 or 8.5 m cable. The three-phase version is rated at 22 kW and uses a 6.5 m cable. The enclosure measures 494 by 348 by 148 mm.
Older eligible-model data lists A2103-7 and A2103-22. Those lines identify rated versions within the A2 family. The full label and installed cable should be checked because the code alone does not describe every finish or option.
Actual vehicle charging can be lower than the wallbox rating. A 22 kW result requires a three-phase supply, suitable circuit and a vehicle that accepts that AC rate.
Smart and solar functions
A2 connects by Wi-Fi for the Andersen app, with Bluetooth used during setup. App functions include scheduling, charge information and remote locking. Solar-surplus charging is supported with the specified measurement arrangement, although the manufacturer’s current tariff page excludes 22 kW A2 units from some named supplier integrations. Solar control, a fixed time schedule and supplier-controlled charging should therefore be treated as separate capabilities.
The 7 kW unit includes Andersen’s Adaptive Fuse current-transformer clamp according to the current product page. Correct clamp placement and load-limit configuration are part of commissioning.
Installation and warranty
The documented installation arrangement avoids a separate earth rod, but the charger still needs the required open-PEN, RCD, overcurrent and earthing provisions. Cable route, enclosure access and the 8.5 m reach should be assessed without creating a trip or vehicle-crossing hazard.
Andersen states seven years of cover subject to warranty terms. Keep the exact model, serial number, commissioning record and purchase evidence.
