Andersen A3 is a 7 kW single-phase home EV charger with a fixed Type 2 cable. Its cable is stored inside the enclosure when not in use. The current model has a 5.5 m cable and measures 430 by 310 by 148 mm.

Charging and controls

A3 connects over Wi-Fi, with Bluetooth used during setup.

Solar integration uses the specified Andersen measurement arrangement.

These interfaces have different roles. Wi-Fi carries the charger’s connected functions after commissioning, while Bluetooth supports setup. Solar charging also needs the energy measurement to be installed and commissioned; the A3 enclosure alone cannot determine whether power at the property boundary is surplus.

Cable, load management and cover

The fixed lead and internal cable store are defining A3 features. The 5.5 m cable length is part of the product specification, so an Andersen charger with another cable arrangement should be identified from its complete model rather than assumed to be an A3.

The 7 kW unit includes an Adaptive Fuse CT clamp for load management. Warranty cover is seven years, subject to the terms.

The CT is the supplied measurement component for the current 7 kW unit. Its presence does not change the A3 into a higher-power charger: A3 remains a 7 kW single-phase product. The enclosure dimensions are 430 mm high, 310 mm wide and 148 mm deep.
