Battery-Box H 5.1 is the four-module size from BYD’s superseded first-generation Battery-Box H family. It is not Battery-Box Premium HVS 5.1. Although both state 5.12 kWh usable energy, they use different modules, voltage schedules and control hardware.
Capacity, power and voltage
H 5.1 contains four B-Plus H 1.28 modules connected in series. It provides 5.12 kWh usable energy, 5.12 kW maximum battery output and a 10.24 kW peak for 30 seconds. Nominal voltage is 205 V and the operating range is 160 to 225 V.
Battery round-trip efficiency is at least 95.3%. The IP55 enclosure measures 580 by 774 by 380 mm and the complete battery weighs 119 kg. Its operating range is -10°C to 50°C. A model-specific derating interval is unconfirmed.
These are historical DC battery figures. AC power depended on the compatible inverter. Model-specific backup support for H 5.1 is unconfirmed and must be checked against the installed inverter and switching arrangement.
Compatibility and lifecycle
The H family used four to nine modules, but the permitted count depended on the inverter. The historical compatibility schedule allowed four modules with some inverter models and required five or more with others. Replacement modules, expansion and firmware support should therefore be checked for the exact installed system.
BYD’s current product overview no longer lists the original H family. It lists later Premium HVS and HVM products instead, so H 5.1 is recorded as superseded.
The available 2018 European warranty covers H 6.4 through H 11.5 but does not include H 5.1. With no matching European H 5.1 schedule, no warranty duration, retained-capacity threshold or throughput figure can safely be assigned to this model.
