Battery-Box Premium HVS
BYD Battery-Box Premium HVS is a modular high-voltage LFP battery family with 5.12 to 12.8 kWh usable energy per tower and up to three identical towers.

Battery-Box Premium HVS is BYD’s smaller-module high-voltage battery family. It uses 2.56 kWh HVS modules in series with a battery control unit and requires a compatible external inverter.
Four tower sizes
One tower contains two, three, four or five HVS modules. The resulting model names are HVS 5.1, HVS 7.7, HVS 10.2 and HVS 12.8. Their usable energies are 5.12, 7.68, 10.24 and 12.8 kWh respectively, measured on the DC side under BYD’s test conditions.
Every BCU2.0 tower size has a 25 A maximum output current and a 50 A peak for three seconds. Voltage rises with each module.
Up to three identical HVS towers can be connected in parallel for 38.4 kWh usable energy. Identical is important: the public capacity statement does not authorise mixing different HVS tower sizes.
System role and versions
HVS is the battery side of the installation. AC output and backup capability are system-dependent.
BYD’s download library contains both BCU2.0 documents and material for the preceding HVS/HVM control unit. The two schedules retain the same named capacity steps, but control-unit generation, dimensions and peak-current declarations differ. The label and installed BCU therefore identify the correct manual and replacement parts.
Premium HVS 10.2 should not be shortened to Battery-Box H 10.2 in records. The latter is an older eight-module product from the superseded first-generation H range.
Environment and warranty
The BCU2.0 HVS is rated IP55 and operates from -10°C to 50°C. Output is derated between -10°C and 5°C.
European residential terms cover the four HVS sizes for ten years, with 60% retained usable energy or a size-specific throughput limit, whichever comes first. The terms also define their start date, compatible-inverter condition and exclusions.
