Battery-Box H 9.0 is a superseded first-generation BYD high-voltage battery. The rounded model name corresponds to 8.96 kWh usable energy from seven B-Plus H 1.28 modules connected in series.
Historical specification
The manufacturer brochure gives 8.96 kW maximum battery output and 17.92 kW peak for 30 seconds. Nominal voltage is 358 V and the published operating range is 280 to 395 V. A V5.0 user manual prints an upper limit of 394 V, a small document-version difference that should be resolved from the applicable manual for the installed battery.
The brochure identifies LFP chemistry and at least 95.3% battery round-trip efficiency. It lists an enclosure measuring 580 by 1,134 by 380 mm and weighing 200 kg. The V5.0 manual gives the same dimensions and a 192 kg weight. Both state IP55 protection and operation from -10°C to 50°C, with derating below 12°C.
System role and expansion
H 9.0 supplied high-voltage DC to a compatible external inverter. The battery-side power figures do not establish AC output or backup performance, which depended on the inverter and installed system.
BYD documented four to nine modules across the original H family, although supported counts varied by inverter. The brochure described parallel connection of identical towers as forthcoming. That wording should not be read as confirmation that an installed H 9.0 supports parallel expansion.
Original warranty and lifecycle
Under the 2018 European residential terms, H 9.0 had a ten-year warranty period and a 60% retained usable-energy threshold, ending earlier at 25.4 MWh throughput. The historical document applies only where its territory, sale date and other conditions match.
The current BYD range no longer lists Battery-Box H 9.0, so it is recorded as superseded.
