Battery-Box H 10.2
BYD Battery-Box H 10.2 is a superseded first-generation high-voltage LFP battery built from eight 1.28 kWh modules; it is distinct from the later Premium HVS 10.2.

Battery-Box H 10.2 is a superseded BYD high-voltage battery from the first-generation Battery-Box H range. Its name is easily confused with Premium HVS 10.2, but the products use different modules, enclosures and voltage schedules.
First-generation H construction
H 10.2 contains eight B-Plus H 1.28 modules connected in series. The manufacturer brochure states 10.24 kWh usable energy and identifies the chemistry as LFP. It gives a nominal voltage of 409 V and an operating range of 320 to 451 V.
The same brochure states 10.24 kW maximum output and 20.48 kW peak for 30 seconds. Those are battery-side figures from the historical document. AC output at the property also depended on the matched inverter and its configured limits.
The brochure lists the enclosure at 580 by 1,254 by 380 mm and 226 kg. BYD’s V5.0 manual gives the same dimensions and 216 kg, so the version and product label should be checked where lifting or structural figures matter. Its IP55 rating and stated operating range do not remove the need to follow the original location, clearance and temperature instructions.
Expansion and compatibility
The H family used four to nine of the 1.28 kWh modules, producing H 5.1 through H 11.5 configurations. The brochure described direct parallel connection of identical towers as a future function, so that statement is not evidence that every installed H 10.2 can be paralleled. Expansion, replacement modules and inverter support need to be checked against the documentation and firmware for the installed generation.
Backup was provided by the compatible inverter and the wider electrical arrangement, not by an AC output within the battery.
Lifecycle and original warranty
Battery-Box H has been replaced in BYD’s published range by later Battery-Box Premium families. The official current product site lists HVS and HVM rather than the original H range.
The 2018 European residential terms covered H 10.2 for ten years, with 60% retained usable energy or 28.4 MWh throughput, whichever limit arrived first. Those historical terms apply only where their territory, sale date and other conditions match the installed product.
