Battery-Box Premium LVL is BYD’s larger low-voltage Battery-Box. One LVL15.4 contains two internal battery modules and provides 15.36 kWh usable DC energy for a compatible external inverter.

One size with parallel expansion

LVL differs from the smaller LVS stack. Instead of building several named tower sizes from 4 kWh modules, it starts with one 15.36 kWh battery enclosure. Up to 64 LVL batteries can operate in parallel, producing 983.04 kWh across the full technical maximum. Two LVL enclosures can also be physically stacked.

Maximum continuous output current is 250 A, with a 375 A peak for five seconds. Nominal voltage is 51.2 V and the operating range is 40 to 57.6 V. These are low-voltage battery-side values; the compatible inverter determines the property’s AC power.

At 168 kg, LVL needs a floor location and supporting structure that meet its installation requirements. Its IP20 rating is for indoor use, unlike the IP55 rating of HVS, HVM and LVS.

Compatibility and system functions

LVL communicates with a compatible external inverter.

The battery does not create an AC backup supply on its own.

Current documentation and warranty boundary

BYD’s current download library retains the LVL datasheet, manuals, certificates and European residential warranty. It also carries documentation for the 2021 hardware revision and states that this revision is compatible with older LVL versions. The installed label and manual still identify the correct dimensions, connection procedure and parts.

European residential terms provide ten years of product cover and a performance limit of 60% retained usable energy or 47.46 MWh throughput. Those terms apply to systems below 50 kWh combined usable energy. Larger parallel systems fall under different warranty schedules even though the technical datasheet permits them.
