Battery-Box Premium LVS is BYD’s stackable low-voltage LFP battery family. It uses 4 kWh modules connected in parallel within a tower and works with a compatible external inverter.
Six single-tower sizes
One to six modules form LVS 4.0, 8.0, 12.0, 16.0, 20.0 or 24.0. The model number matches the usable DC energy in kilowatt-hours under the datasheet’s test conditions. All configurations have a nominal voltage of 51.2 V and an operating range of 40 to 57.6 V.
Output current rises as modules are added up to the four-module LVS 16.0: 65 A continuous for LVS 4.0, 130 A for LVS 8.0, 195 A for LVS 12.0 and 250 A for LVS 16.0. LVS 20.0 and 24.0 remain at 250 A. Those are battery-side current limits rather than the AC power of the connected inverter.
Parallel-expansion boundary
The maximum parallel configuration is 64 LVS modules, implemented as up to sixteen identical LVS 16.0 towers for 256 kWh usable energy. The five-module LVS 20.0 and six-module LVS 24.0 are single-tower-only configurations, so the 256 kWh maximum cannot be built from LVS 24.0 towers.
Backup, location and warranty
LVS has no AC output by itself. Backup is system-dependent.
LVS is rated IP55 and operates from -10°C to 50°C, with charge derating between -10°C and 5°C. Its round-trip efficiency is at least 95% under the battery test conditions.
European residential terms give the six LVS sizes a ten-year warranty, with 60% retained usable energy or the model’s throughput limit, whichever comes first. They exclude the performance warranty where batteries installed in parallel exceed 50 kWh combined usable energy, even though the technical system can be larger.
