BYD Power-Box SL3-6K is a single-phase hybrid inverter designed around a low-voltage Battery-Box connection. The family contains SL3K, SL3.68K, SL4.6K, SL5K and SL6K models and has G98 and G99 grid-connection documentation. Current UK supply and exact UK model status remain unconfirmed.
PV and low-voltage battery input
Rated AC output is 3, 3.68, 4.6, 5 or 6 kW. Every model has two MPPTs with one string input each, a 600 V maximum PV input and a 100 to 550 V tracking range. Maximum current is 16 A per tracker.
The 40 to 60 V battery input is specified for Battery-Box LV5.0+. Maximum charge and discharge current is 100 A.
Backup and operating data
The separate backup output is rated at model power, with transfer below 10 ms. Peak output is 150% of nominal for ten seconds on the 3 to 4.6 kW models. The 5 and 6 kW models are both capped at 7.5 kVA for ten seconds. Up to three inverters can operate in parallel, subject to the system design and manual.
The inverter is IP66, measures 481 × 390 × 200 mm and weighs 21.35 kg. Maximum efficiency is 97.3%.
Warranty boundary
The standard warranty is five years. The automatic ten-year extension requires monitoring, authorised installation and operation with Battery-Box LV5.0 or LV5.0+.
