This entry covers Daikin Altherma 3 M. The imported route originally used the incomplete name Altherma 3, which also describes several split and high-temperature families and is not a precise model identifier.

M identifies the monobloc family

Altherma 3 M contains the R32 refrigerant circuit and primary hydraulic components in the outdoor unit. Water rather than site-installed refrigerant pipework connects it to the building. Freeze protection, external pipe insulation and the specified water volume therefore form part of the installation design.

Current manufacturer and certification records use EBLA for reversible units and EDLA for heating-only units. They cover capacity classes from 4 to 16 kW across two outdoor-unit sizes. Electrical supply, built-in or separate backup heating and reversible operation are encoded in the suffixes.

Family figures are not a design schedule

The current UK family page states operation down to -25°C, domestic hot water up to 60°C and outdoor sound pressure from 44 to 50 dB(A). These are range-level presentation figures. A design uses the exact code’s output at the selected outdoor and water temperatures, along with its sound-power declaration.

The unit can connect to separate hot-water storage and several emitter types. A cylinder or thermal store is not included merely because the system can produce domestic hot water.

Certification and warranty

Exact EBLA and EDLA records were current in the MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) Product Directory on 23 July 2026. Some records refer to combined system codes, so an outdoor model should be matched to the proposed hydraulic and control arrangement.

Daikin’s live UK warranty page stated a two-year standard term at the review date. Longer air-to-water terms through Stand By Me depend on registration, installer route, maintenance and the full conditions.
