EO Genius 2 is EO Charging’s current commercial AC wallbox for fleets, workplaces and destination sites. It supports single-phase charging up to 7.2 kW and three-phase charging up to 22 kW. The connection can be a universal Type 2 socket or a fixed 5 m Type 1 or Type 2 cable.

Communications and access

Wi-Fi, Cat 5 Ethernet and Bluetooth are standard, while 4G is optional. The charger includes an RFID reader and can operate as part of an EO Hub and EO Cloud installation. EO describes the product as OCPP 1.6 compliant, allowing integration with a compatible OCPP backend.

OCPP compatibility does not guarantee that every backend exposes every charger function. Firmware, security profile, network design and backend certification all need to match. An offline local charging policy should also be agreed for a fleet site.

Metering and load management

EO lists optional MID, Australian NMI and German calibration-law meters for the appropriate markets. The selected version matters where session data is used for employee reimbursement, public billing or internal cost allocation. A generic energy figure from the charger should not be treated as revenue-grade unless the installed meter and scheme require it.

Solar charging is an optional extra using an additional current-transformer clamp. Multiple site load-management options are available through local or cloud control, including EO Hub. The site meter, available capacity and failure behaviour need to be part of the design.

Identifying variants

Register codes such as EG201 and EG203, followed by socket or tethered suffixes, describe single-phase and three-phase configurations and their connection options. They are not separate Genius generations. The full charger label, meter variant and communications option should be recorded at commissioning.
