Fronius Symo is a three-phase string-inverter family from the SnapINverter generation. Its published range runs from 3.0 to 20.0 kW. Fronius continues to host technical documents and owner support for installed units, while its current UK solution pages focus on GEN24, Verto, Tauro and Argeno. Symo is therefore recorded as superseded.
What the family covers
Symo converts solar DC into three-phase AC and uses two MPPTs. The wide family span includes materially different input currents, output currents, dimensions and connection arrangements, so the complete power-class suffix is needed for design or replacement work.
The plain Symo page should not be confused with Symo Hybrid, Symo GEN24, Symo GEN24 Plus or Symo Advanced. Those names identify different platforms or functions. Standard Symo is a PV inverter with no direct battery interface and no independent backup output.
Installed-system configuration
Many Symo units include or support Fronius Datamanager for Solar.web monitoring and control interfaces. Firmware, communication options and fitted surge protection can vary with model and installation date. A live monitoring portal does not confirm that all alarms, meters or export controls are configured correctly.
Replacement selection accounts for the DNO type-test position, string voltage, tracker currents, phase arrangement and existing export control. Matching the old AC power figure alone is insufficient.
Support and warranty
Fronius retains SnapINverter help for Symo and current certificates/datasheets on its UK site. This is useful for fault diagnosis and installed-base servicing but does not prove new-product availability.
Warranty must be established from the serial number, original commissioning information and Solar.web record. Current registration rules should not be applied retrospectively to an older Symo without the applicable terms.
