Fronius Symo GEN24 is the three-phase branch of the GEN24 inverter family. Standard and Plus versions share the platform, while Plus enables compatible high-voltage battery operation and Full Backup from purchase. Newer SC versions accept higher module currents and include Fronius Arc Guard.

Power classes and inputs

The current family table divides Symo into 3, 4 and 5 kW models and higher 6, 8 and 12 kW models. All are three-phase, but the detailed enclosure and input schedules differ between the lower and higher groups. The table states two MPPTs, up to 1,000 V DC and IP66 protection.

Those family figures are not a substitute for the exact datasheet. Maximum current, usable tracker voltage, permitted PV oversizing and UK type-test status need the complete model code and generation.

Battery and backup distinction

Standard Symo GEN24 provides PV Point basic backup and can be upgraded through UP.storage where Fronius makes that route available. Symo GEN24 Plus has the battery connection and Full Backup software enabled.

Fronius expressly excludes Full Backup from Symo GEN24 3.0 to 5.0 Plus. On supported higher-power models, Full Backup still requires a compatible battery and the specified grid-disconnection hardware. The output and starting-current limits remain inverter- and battery-dependent.

PV Point and Full Backup are different arrangements. PV Point is a limited dedicated backup output, while Full Backup can support a wider three-phase installation only within the approved design.

Monitoring and lifecycle

GEN24 integrates with Solar.web and uses compatible metering for import, export, self-consumption and battery control. Software should be kept on the supported release because battery compatibility and service diagnostics depend on it.

Warranty is determined by the device, territory, commissioning date, registration record and terms attached to the inverter serial number.
