DNS Series is GoodWe’s earlier single-phase grid-tied solar inverter family. It includes D-NS and T-DS codes across 3, 3.68, 4.2, 5 and 6 kW AC classes.
Two code groups
The final letters are material. D-NS has an 11 A current limit per MPPT, while T-DS has 13 A. Optional arc-fault and string-current functions belong to the T-DS variants rather than D-NS.

The November 2024 manual adds a 2.9 kW code for a 127 V market. That code is not included in the public 3–6 kW family specification here because its output voltage is not the normal UK single-phase form.
DNS has no battery connection or backup output. It can form the solar-generation side of a property that also has an AC-coupled battery, but the battery would use separate conversion equipment.
Identification and lifecycle
GoodWe’s downloads still include the original DNS manuals and datasheet. Its current central product catalogue instead lists DNS G3 and DNS G4 as the residential dual-tracker families. Current new-supply status for the original DNS is therefore unconfirmed, rather than inferred from the retained documents.
The generations are not interchangeable. DNS G3 and DNS G4 use different product codes and electrical schedules, so their higher input-current or other newer specifications must not be assigned to a GW...D-NS or GW...T-DS unit.
GoodWe’s European inverter terms effective 5 March 2026 place covered DNS equipment made before 1 January 2026 in a five-year group. The ten-year table for equipment made from that date names DNS G3 and DNS G4, not original DNS. The unit label, manufacture date, installation record and warranty supplied with the sale determine the actual position.
UK connection boundary
The exact code and configured protection need matching current UK type-test evidence. A 3.68 kW label alone does not establish that the whole property follows G98, because existing generation and aggregate registered capacity also count.
