The Aerona 290 15.5kW is product HPR290155 and the highest-output model in Grant’s UK Aerona 290 range. It is a single-phase, inverter-driven monobloc using R290 refrigerant.

Output and operating range

The 15.5 kW name corresponds to 15.57 kW at -5°C outdoor air and 55°C flow. Capacity is 16.16 kW at 7°C outdoor and 35°C flow. The Irish-market range sometimes describes the related top unit as 16 kW, but Grant’s UK documents and MCS entry use HPR290155 and the 15.5 kW name.

MCS HP0265/05 is the current UK product record. SCOP (seasonal coefficient of performance) is 4.56 at 35°C flow and 3.33 at 55°C, with intermediate values between those points. Minimum modulation output is 4.63 kW.

What differs from the smaller units

HPR290155 shares its outer dimensions with the 12 kW model in the April 2026 manual, but it is heavier and carries a larger refrigerant charge. It also has the highest maximum running current in the range. These differences feed into the electrical design, handling, base and hydraulic requirements even though all five models use a single-phase supply.

The heat pump works with Grant’s Aerona Smart Controller. Its outdoor unit contains the R290 refrigerant circuit, water-side heat exchanger and circulating pump. This model requires at least 23.15 litres of system water; 92.6 litres is recommended. Its safety clearances and condensate arrangements are installation requirements, not optional siting guidance.

Availability and guarantee

HPR290155 and MCS HP0265/05 were current at 22 July 2026. The standard guarantee is one year, extended to two years where the registration and servicing conditions are met. The seven-year headline term is a separate conditional offer available through eligible G1 installers.
