Home 3.0 is the preceding generation of Hypervolt’s tethered domestic chargepoint. It is a single-phase unit rated at up to 7.4 kW and is now superseded by Home 3 Pro.
Hardware and charging modes
The charger was offered with Type 2 or Type 1 vehicle connectors and 5 m, 7.5 m or 10 m tethered cables. Its enclosure uses the same overall dimensions as Home 3 Pro but has IP54 ingress and IK08 impact ratings rather than the current model’s IP66 and IK10 ratings.
Home 3.0 provides Boost, Eco and Super Eco modes. Eco can add grid electricity to available solar generation, while Super Eco follows solar only. Automatic load management uses the main current transformer to reduce charging when other demand would take the property beyond its configured limit.
Storage monitoring
A second current transformer can be used where an AC-coupled battery has a separately measurable AC output. It is not the route Hypervolt specifies for a battery and solar array sharing a hybrid inverter on the DC side.
The second sensor adds battery-flow information. It is distinct from the primary sensor used for site demand, automatic load management and solar measurement.
Installation and connectivity
Home 3.0 includes open-PEN protection and 6 mA DC residual-current detection. Its technical specification also calls for external AC residual-current protection and an external circuit breaker or residual current breaker with overcurrent protection. The model sheet recommends Type A, while Hypervolt’s current general support wording specifies a Type A 40 A double-pole RCBO.
Its documented connections are 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE. App support, schedules and usage records form part of the third-generation platform, subject to the charger remaining connected and correctly configured.
At 22 July 2026, Home 3 Pro is the current generation and Home 3.0 remains in Hypervolt’s support library. The GOV.UK list updated on 15 June 2026 still records Home 3.0 for both residential and commercial grants. That entry is a grant-model status, not evidence that the older unit is still sold new.
