LXP 3600 ACS is a single-phase battery inverter for AC-coupled storage. It can sit alongside an existing grid-connected solar inverter, charging a compatible 48 V battery from the property’s AC system and discharging it back to household loads.
Electrical role and limits
The ACS has no direct PV input and no MPPT. The existing solar inverter remains responsible for converting panel power. This makes the ACS a retrofit battery component rather than a replacement solar inverter.
Rated AC output is 3.6 kW at 230 V and 16 A. Maximum AC input is 26 A, maximum continuous passthrough is 40 A and the battery range is 40 to 60 V. Maximum battery charge and discharge current is 70 A, subject to a 3.6 kW power limit.
Lithium-ion and lead-acid settings are available. A lithium battery still needs to appear on the applicable compatibility list and use the required communications and settings. The inverter’s power rating does not establish the battery’s capacity, chemistry, current limit or warranty.
Backup and parallel records
A separate output is rated at 3.6 kW, with 4.5 kW available for 30 seconds and a 20 millisecond switching time. Backup operation also needs appropriate circuit selection, earthing, protection and battery capability.
Luxpower’s current records disagree on parallel capacity. The 2025 schedule limits it to six units, while the current product page says up to eight. Neither figure should be used in a design until the exact hardware, firmware and supported wiring arrangement have been confirmed.
UK connection boundary
The datasheet’s standards line includes G98 and G100. That is not enough to determine the route for a property that may already have a solar inverter. The installer needs the current type-test evidence for the exact ACS and must assess aggregate registered capacity, the existing generator and any export-limitation scheme separately.
Luxpower’s warranty terms effective from 9 February 2026 give the LXP 3600ACS standard or parallel model five years. Those terms were within their validity period at the review date and remain subject to their start-date rule, approved sales channel and exclusions.
