NexBlue Point 2 (UK) is a single-phase domestic chargepoint with a Type 2 socket. It offers between 6 and 32 A on a 230 V supply, giving a published charging range of 1.4 to 7.4 kW.
Wired monitoring is included
A wired current transformer is included with Point 2 for site monitoring. Its measurement allows the charger to reduce current when other household demand approaches the configured limit. The same arrangement supports solar-surplus charging. NexBlue Zen provides a separate wireless monitoring option using the company’s cloud service or local radio link.
The myNexBlue app provides schedules, session records, energy tracking and access sharing. EcoPilot is NexBlue’s tariff-based scheduling function. OCPP 1.6J and 2.0.1 support connection to compatible charging platforms. Communications include Ethernet, Wi-Fi, a built-in 4G eSIM, Bluetooth and Nexus RF.
ISO 15118 and bidirectional status
Point 2 contains hardware for the ISO 15118 vehicle communication standard. NexBlue describes it as ready for Plug & Charge and V2G (vehicle-to-grid) functions where the rest of the system is compatible.
The company’s UK commercial guidance says the automotive industry and installation standards are not yet ready for those functions. The charger should therefore be treated as carrying the communication capability, not as evidence that bidirectional operation is available with a particular car, tariff or installation.
Point 2 has built-in 6 mA DC and 30 mA AC residual-current protection, PEN (protective earth and neutral) fault protection and an IP54 enclosure. Its five-year warranty starts on the installation date under NexBlue’s published terms.
The model is included for residential and commercial use in the government’s eligible chargepoint list dated 15 June 2026. Grant eligibility still depends on the scheme, property, applicant and installation.
Availability
Point 2 (UK) remained in NexBlue’s current UK brochure and product navigation at 22 July 2026. Its direct product page nevertheless showed the available variant as sold out or unavailable. NexBlue had not identified the model as superseded or withdrawn, so current catalogue status did not mean that it could be ordered directly at that date.
