NexBlue Point (UK) is an earlier single-phase home chargepoint with a Type 2 socket. It varies the offered current between 6 and 32 A, giving a published charging range of 1.4 to 7.4 kW on a 230 V supply.
Charger and monitoring functions
The myNexBlue app provides scheduling, charging history, access sharing and remote control. An RFID (radio-frequency identification) card, mobile near-field communication and plug-and-play mode provide other start methods. Local OCPP 1.6J supports connection to compatible platforms.
Wi-Fi, a built-in 4G eSIM and Bluetooth provide communications. Nexus RF is NexBlue’s local radio link to other system equipment.
Dynamic load balancing and solar-surplus charging require the separate NexBlue Zen monitor. This measures demand at the property connection and sends the result to the charger. The functions are not provided by the Point unit on its own.
The unit includes 6 mA DC detection, 30 mA AC residual-current protection and PEN (protective earth and neutral) fault protection. Its product sheet also calls for an external Type A residual-current device.
Replacement by Point 2
NexBlue Point 2 (UK) is explicitly described by the manufacturer as the second generation of Point. It keeps the same maximum charging power and socketed format but adds a wired current transformer in the package, Ethernet, newer OCPP support, ISO 15118 communication hardware, a five-year warranty and a revised protection specification.
Point (UK) is superseded. NexBlue continues to host its declaration, product sheet and manual. The model also remains listed for residential and commercial schemes in the government register dated 15 June 2026. Its three-year warranty remains subject to the original terms and installation date.
