Ohme ePod is a compact 7.4 kW single-phase home charger with an untethered Type 2 socket. It has an LED status strip and three buttons rather than the LCD screen and permanently attached cable used by the Home Pro.

Socket and charging power

The ePod’s product code is OHMEX1GB003-BL. A separate Type 2 cable connects the socket to the vehicle, so the cable can be stored elsewhere or replaced independently of the charger. Ohme offers 5 m and 8 m cables, but these do not turn the ePod into a factory-tethered model.

The unit can supply up to 32 A, equivalent to 7.4 kW at its nominal single-phase voltage. The vehicle, circuit limit and load-balancing setting can each reduce the delivered power.

App, connectivity and solar

An embedded multi-network 3G/4G SIM links the charger to Ohme’s online service. The app can build a schedule around a departure time and the amount of energy requested. The buttons provide direct controls at the charger, while the LED strip communicates its operating state.

The supplied CT clamp supports dynamic load balancing. With suitable placement and configuration, it allows the charger to respond to demand elsewhere in the property. Ohme also uses CT measurement for solar charging on eligible systems. Availability of individual solar modes depends on the installed setup and the app and firmware functions available to that charger.

The mobile-data connection cost is covered for the first three years under the May 2025 terms. Cover after that period is separate.

Protection and enclosure

Built-in protection comprises Type A 30 mA AC residual-current protection with 6 mA DC detection and a PEN-fault detector. The final circuit still needs suitable external overcurrent protection and an installation design that meets the supply and site conditions.

The ePod has an IP54 enclosure, IK08 impact rating and an operating range from -25°C to 50°C. It measures 230 x 140 x 100 mm. Its precise weight is 1.48 kg, rounded to 1.5 kg in the data sheet.

Ohme provides a three-year warranty subject to its terms. The ePod appears on the GOV.UK eligible chargepoint list dated 15 June 2026 for residential and commercial grants. The listing concerns the model; eligibility for a particular installation must still be established under the relevant grant rules.
