Ohme Home Pro is a 7.4 kW single-phase home charger with a permanently attached Type 2 cable. It combines app control with an LCD screen and three buttons on the unit, allowing basic charging controls to remain accessible without opening the app.

Cable variants and charging power

The standard OHME0002GB002 order code has a 5 m cable. OHME0002GB002-8M identifies the 8 m version. These are cable-length variants of the same Home Pro family rather than chargers with different power or control systems.

Output is adjustable up to 32 A, or 7.4 kW at the nominal single-phase supply voltage. Actual charging power can be lower because of the vehicle’s onboard charger, the circuit rating or active load balancing.

Scheduling, connectivity and solar

Home Pro connects through an embedded multi-network 3G/4G SIM. The Ohme app can set charging schedules from a departure time and the required amount of energy. Where a supported vehicle supplies battery information, the service can also use that data when planning the session.

A CT clamp is included for dynamic load balancing. It measures demand so the charger can reduce its output before the installation reaches its configured limit. The same measurement supports Ohme’s solar-charging functions on eligible, correctly configured systems. Solar operation depends on the CT installation, charger setup, app and firmware features available to the unit.

Ohme’s May 2025 data sheet covers the mobile-data connection cost for the first three years. Terms beyond that period should be checked with Ohme, particularly where app and cloud scheduling form an important part of the intended use.

Electrical protection and installation

The charger includes Type A 30 mA AC residual-current protection with integral 6 mA DC detection and a PEN-fault detector. Overcurrent protection remains external to the chargepoint and has to be selected for the cable, installation method and supply conditions.

The enclosure is rated IP55 and IK08. Ohme specifies operation from -25°C to 45°C. The published unit dimensions are 170 x 200 x 100 mm and the weight, including its cable, is 4 kg.

Ohme states a 36-month warranty from installation, subject to its installation and warranty conditions. Both cable-length codes appear on the GOV.UK eligible chargepoint list dated 15 June 2026 for residential and commercial grants. Grant eligibility also depends on the applicant, property, installer and scheme rules.
