Pylontech Fidus Battery is a low-voltage battery family in the manufacturer’s current global range. Its current records contain several variants and conflicting headline figures. Current UK new-supply and warranty terms are unconfirmed.

Variants in the current record

The base web table and current FB-L-5.12-P sheet state 5.12 kWh nominal, 4.97 kWh usable and 97% depth of discharge in an IP65 enclosure. FB-L-5.12-PK has the same energy schedule and dimensions but is IP20. The newer FB-L-5.12-EU and self-heating FB-L-5.12-EU-Pro sheet instead states 4.86 kWh usable, 95% depth of discharge, IP65 and dimensions of 630 by 170 by 363 mm.

The live introduction calls Fidus a 4.8 kWh unit at 95% depth of discharge, while its structured table states 5.12 kWh nominal, 4.97 kWh usable and 97%. These descriptions cannot all be assigned to one generic configuration. The model suffix and supplied document therefore decide the specification.

Electrical data

Nominal voltage is 51.2 V. The current variant sheets give 100 A maximum continuous charge and discharge current and 121 to 200 A for up to 15 seconds. The short peak is not a continuous rating, and the inverter or battery temperature may impose a lower limit.

CAN and RS485 are provided for inverter communications. A compatible 51.2 V voltage window is not enough by itself: the inverter needs the supported Pylontech protocol and firmware for FB-L-5.12.

Expansion

The system supports 20 units in one string or up to six groups, with a 19-unit-per-string limit in a multi-string installation. The 5 kWh to 583 kWh headline range reflects these larger architectures and depends on the required hub, protection and manufacturer design.

Enclosure and operating limits

The variants weigh 45 kg. The current sheets publish C5-M anti-corrosion classification and operating schedules that differ for the self-heating version. The structured web table gives a ten-year design life, while current downloadable sheets give 15 years and 8,000 cycles under stated test conditions. Neither design-life figure is a warranty duration.
