Alpha Pure 2 is an REC heterojunction solar-panel family. The four nominal outputs share one module size and the RECXXXAA Pure 2 code pattern, with the wattage replacing XXX.
Construction and ratings
The cells are bifacial heterojunction cells, but the panel is not a bifacial module: a black polymer backsheet closes the rear. It also has a black anodised aluminium frame and anti-reflective front glass.
Efficiency rises across the four power classes because their physical area is the same. The power rating is measured at standard test conditions. It is not an annual-generation figure, which also depends on layout, orientation, shading, temperature and system losses.
The maximum-power temperature coefficient describes the change in rated output as cell temperature moves away from the test reference. Nominal module operating temperature is a separate laboratory value under a defined irradiance, ambient temperature and wind speed.
Warranty terms
The standard product warranty is 20 years and the power warranty is 25 years. The power schedule warrants 98% in year one, followed by a maximum 0.25% annual reduction and 92% in year 25.
REC ProTrust can extend product cover to 25 years and add labour cover. It applies only where an REC Certified Solar Professional installs and registers the panels, with labour duration also governed by system size and further terms.
UK records and documentation
At 23 July 2026, the MCS Product Directory lists REC400AA, REC410AA, REC420AA and REC430AA Pure 2 entries as current. Their references run from MCS PV0335/37 to /40 and each record gives dimensions of 1865 by 1040 by 30 mm.
REC’s download library carries separate regional English sheets for Pure 2: a UL/US document and an IEC document for Australia and New Zealand dated October 2025. The electrical and physical values above agree across those documents. The MCS records establish the separate UK register position for the exact codes, while the declarations and installation documents supplied with a panel remain specific to that product and market.
