Alpha Pure-R is REC’s compact heterojunction solar-panel family. The current product page and datasheets cover four nominal power classes from 400 W to 430 W. Its complete code follows the RECXXXAA Pure-R pattern, with the wattage replacing XXX.

Format and construction

Pure-R uses 80 half-cut cells in a 1730 by 1118 mm module. That makes it a different physical format from Alpha Pure 2 even though both families span the same nominal wattages.

REC describes the cells as bifacial. The finished module has a black polymer backsheet, so it is not a glass-glass bifacial panel intended to collect rear-side irradiance. The construction also uses a black anodised aluminium frame, anti-reflective front glass and lead-free cell and junction-box connections.

For the current-datasheet 400 W, 410 W, 420 W and 430 W variants, efficiency rises from 20.7% to 22.3% across the common module area. No efficiency value is assigned here to the earlier 380 W and 390 W codes retained in MCS. The maximum-power temperature coefficient and nominal operating temperature describe two different test behaviours; neither predicts the output of a particular roof over a year.

Power and product warranties

The standard product warranty runs for 20 years. The 25-year power warranty allows a maximum 2% reduction in year one and 0.25% in each later year, leaving 92% of nameplate power in year 25.

REC ProTrust changes the cover only for qualifying installations. An REC Certified Solar Professional must install and register the panels, and system size and further conditions determine the labour term.

Availability and exact matching

REC’s global English IEC datasheet is dated May 2025. Its library separately provides an October 2025 IEC document for Australia and New Zealand. Both cover the current 400 W, 410 W, 420 W and 430 W range.

At 23 July 2026, the MCS Product Directory also retains earlier REC380AA and REC390AA Pure-R records under MCS PV0335/21 and /22. The current 400 W to 430 W codes follow under /23 to /26, so all six wattages remain current on the UK register even though REC’s current catalogue begins at 400 W.

Each of those records specifies the 1730 by 1118 by 30 mm format. A Pure-RX or Pure 2 code is a different product even where REC’s Alpha name and nominal output look similar.
