WallPod

WallPod is Rolec’s established 7.4 kW single-phase wall charger for domestic and workplace use. Current material lists a universal Type 2 socket or a tethered Type 2 lead. The exact connector, lead length, colour and control package depend on the model code.

Smart and managed charging

Drivers can use plug-and-go, a mobile application or RFID where configured. OCPP 1.6 support allows the charger to connect to a compatible chargepoint-management provider. Rolec lists 4G, Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, over-the-air software updates and MID-approved metering.

The current page also describes solar, battery or wind integration, together with dynamic load balancing. Those functions depend on the CT sensor, communications path and commissioned energy-flow direction. An OCPP service and the selected energy-control app may be supplied by different organisations, so their account and support arrangements should be recorded at handover.

Electrical and enclosure details

Rolec lists built-in overcurrent and 6 mA DC leakage protection, PME fault detection, surge and overtemperature protection. The upstream circuit, residual-current protection, isolation and earthing still have to follow the exact manual and current UK requirements. Built-in features are not a substitute for checking the whole installation.

The single-phase input is 230 V ±10% at 50/60 Hz. The polycarbonate enclosure measures 179 × 367 × 142 mm and has an IK10 impact rating. Rolec offers wall and post mounting, so the support structure, cable route and accessibility need to match the selected arrangement.
