Sharp NU-JD545 and NU-JD550 were large monocrystalline modules for commercial rooftops and ground-mounted projects. The series is no longer available, and Sharp no longer supplies solar panels in Europe.

Module specification

The NU-JD545 is rated at 545 W with 21.1% module efficiency. The NU-JD550 raises those figures to 550 W and 21.3%. Both use 144 half-cells based on monocrystalline PERC technology, with a glass front and white backsheet.

The modules measure 2278 by 1134 by 35 mm and weigh 27.5 kg. The maximum-power temperature coefficient is -0.341% per degree Celsius and NMOT (nominal module operating temperature) is 42.5°C. Maximum system voltage is 1500 V and power tolerance is 0 to +5%.

At more than 2.27 metres long, an NU-JD is a large project-format module rather than a conventional residential-size panel.

Guarantee terms

Eligible installations in the EU and other listed countries have a 15-year product guarantee and a 25-year linear power-output guarantee. Minimum output in year 25 is 85%.

Sharp Electronics GmbH said those guarantees would remain valid after the European solar division closed. Coverage still depends on the exact model, installation date, country and applicable guarantee document.

MCS dimension difference

The MCS Product Directory contains two records for each wattage. Records MR 50656074 0001/002 and /003 give a length of 2279 mm for the 545 W and 550 W modules. Later records /005 and /006 use the 2278 mm length printed in Sharp’s datasheet. All four records ended on 22 May 2026 and were not current at 22 July 2026.

Both 2278 mm and 2279 mm records therefore exist. The label on the installed module and its own installation documentation identify which dimensions apply.
