Sunny Tripower CORE1 STP 50-41 is a 50 kW three-phase string inverter for commercial rooftop, ground-mounted and covered-parking solar arrays. It is a PV inverter, not a hybrid or battery inverter.
Array inputs
CORE1 has six independent MPPTs and 12 direct string inputs. That layout can separate several orientations or module groups, provided each string remains within the voltage, current and short-circuit limits in the current datasheet. Two physical inputs on a tracker do not create two independent trackers.
SMA permits a DC-to-AC ratio up to 150%. This is an equipment ceiling rather than a design target. Yield modelling, clipping, tracker current, cold-weather open-circuit voltage, cable losses and the site’s connection agreement still decide the appropriate array size.
Installation and functions
The enclosure is designed as a free-standing inverter rather than requiring a conventional wall mounting surface. The current STP 50-41 schedule includes an integrated DC disconnector, SMA ShadeFix, arc-fault interruption and I-V curve diagnostics. AC and DC surge protection is described as optional, so it should not be assumed from the family name.
CORE1 has no direct battery connection and does not create backup power during a grid outage. It can form part of a wider managed commercial system containing storage, but those controls and storage power conversion are separate equipment.
Identification and UK connection
Earlier CORE1 revisions exist. The full STP 50-41 code and firmware matter when checking features, approvals or replacement parts. At 50 kW, the site’s DNO treatment depends on the complete generation and storage arrangement, not simply the individual inverter rating. The current ENA record and declared settings should be verified for the exact unit.
Warranty extensions and service coverage depend on the serial number, commissioning date, territory and registration. Keep those records with the as-built string schedule and protection settings.
