SolarEdge Home Battery 48V, model BAT-05K48, is a modular LFP battery for compatible SolarEdge three-phase Home inverters.
BAT-05K48 usable-capacity schedules
BAT-05K48 has two conditional usable-energy values. The higher value applies to batteries connected to new Home Hub three-phase installations from January 2025 and is not a retrospective rating for every BAT-05K48 system.
That distinction carries into stack totals. Multiplying the higher figure across the permitted module count is valid only where its activation and installation condition applies.
One module also has different charge and discharge limits. Adding modules raises the battery-side system limit to the multi-module ceiling, after which inverter and AC limits still apply. Capacity and power remain separate system data.
Home Battery 48V compatibility and backup
Home Battery 48V is compatible with supported Home Wave and Home Hub three-phase inverters. The permitted arrangement depends on the exact inverter and battery accessory set.
On-grid storage and backup are not the same configuration. Backup needs the supported Home Hub three-phase inverter, Home Backup Interface and the designed protected-load arrangement.
The battery is floor mounted with a wall attachment. Its power is reduced at some temperatures, and it has an internal heating procedure.
Home Battery 48V retention cover
The current policy ends retained-capacity cover at the earlier of its time or throughput boundary. It also requires an approved SolarEdge inverter, monitoring connection, specified temperature conditions and compliance with the other policy terms.
The Home Battery 48V policy effective from 1 January 2026 covers only products originally purchased from SolarEdge on or after that date, subject to its covered-location terms. An earlier BAT-05K48 purchase must be assessed under the terms that applied at the time.
Home Battery 48V remains in SolarEdge’s current UK storage range.
