SolarEdge Home Wave is the current residential inverter family for optimised PV, supported on-grid battery storage and smart energy devices. Single-phase and three-phase Home Wave products have separate electrical schedules.

Home Wave optimiser-string design

Home Wave works with compatible SolarEdge power optimisers rather than taking an ordinary unoptimised string design. The optimiser type, minimum and maximum string length, connected power and inverter code have to appear in the same current design table.

Home Wave phase and storage schedules

The single-phase range covers the larger 8 and 10 kW residential classes, while the separate three-phase family spans 3 to 10 kW. Their figures are not interchangeable.

Phase family Power class Family code
single phase 8 kW SE8000H
single phase 10 kW SE10000H
three phase 3 kW SE3K
three phase 4 kW SE4K
three phase 5 kW SE5K
three phase 6 kW SE6K
three phase 7 kW SE7K
three phase 8 kW SE8K
three phase 9 kW SE9K
three phase 10 kW SE10K

The single-phase models use natural-convection cooling, while the three-phase models use an internal fan. Their thermal derating conditions still apply inside the broad ambient range.

Battery compatibility is also phase and model specific. Home Wave supports on-grid battery storage, which is not the same function as the backup-led Home Hub platform.

Home Wave availability and inverter cover

Home Wave remains on SolarEdge’s current UK inverter page. The general policy covers eligible inverters subject to model and market terms, with separately purchased extensions available under SolarEdge’s extension rules.
