SolaX X1-AC is a single-phase AC-coupled battery inverter, despite the charger wording sometimes used in product descriptions. It charges and discharges a home battery from the property’s AC system. It is not an EV chargepoint.
Four battery-inverter codes
The family comprises X1-AC-3.0, X1-AC-3.6, X1-AC-4.6 and X1-AC-5.0. All four use a lithium-battery input across 70 V to 400 V, with 300 V as the recommended battery voltage. Rated charge or discharge current is 25 A, with a 35 A maximum.
There is no solar DC input or MPPT. Existing solar generation remains connected through its own inverter, and the X1-AC exchanges battery energy through the AC side of the installation. Maximum inverter efficiency is 97%; full-load AC-to-battery efficiency is 97%, while full-load battery-to-AC efficiency is 97.5%.
Lifecycle and warranty
The X1-AC manual remains available and the current UK warranty page still names X1-AC. X1-FIT G4 is now the listed single-phase AC-coupled family, while current new-supply status for X1-AC was unconfirmed on 23 July 2026.
X1-AC has five years of standard cover. A qualifying SolaXCloud connection with successful generation-data upload adds five years of parts-only cover. This differs from the ten-year standard-cover wording used for several G4 families.
An installed unit should be identified from its exact code, serial number, compatible battery record and commissioning settings.
