S5-EH1P(3-6)K-L is a current Solis single-phase hybrid inverter family. It converts solar generation, controls a low-voltage battery and provides a separate backup output. The UK page lists 3, 3.6, 4.6, 5 and 6 kW classes.
Five codes, one family
The bracketed range in the family name is not one continuously adjustable inverter. Each output class has its own code and electrical schedule. Solis lists two MPPTs and a maximum string input current of 15 A for the family. Array voltage, current and short-circuit current still need checking against the exact variant’s datasheet.
The page describes lithium-ion and lead-acid support. Solis separately maintains a battery-matching document, and the approved combination depends on the inverter code, battery model, communications and firmware. A nominal low-voltage battery cannot be treated as automatically compatible.
Backup is a designed circuit
Solis states backup switching below 20 milliseconds and up to 5 kW of backup power. That 5 kW statement is a family ceiling, not a guarantee for every output class or installation. The connected protected loads, maximum current, earthing and changeover arrangement determine what remains powered during a grid failure.
Current-transformer and meter orientation affect self-use, export limitation and grid charging. These settings should be recorded at commissioning together with the selected battery type and reserve level.
The UK limited warranty effective from 1 July 2025 gives energy-storage inverters on sale five years, subject to eligibility and exclusions. Earlier production keeps its original terms.
