S6 Single Phase Inverter

Solis’s current S6 single-phase grid-tied range covers residential solar inverters from 0.7 to 8 kW. These are solar string inverters without a direct battery connection.

Four current families

The compact S6-GR1P-M family lists 0.7, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 and 3 kW codes plus a 3.6 kW model. Solis’s current page gives this family one MPPT and a 16 A string-current schedule.

Two overlapping 2.5 to 6 kW schedules are current. S6-GR1P(2.5-6)K has two trackers, 14 A maximum input current and a maximum efficiency of 97.7%. The separate S6-GR1P(2.5-6)K-S page gives a 21 A input-current schedule for higher-current modules. S6-GR1P(7-8)K02-NV-YD-HC covers 7 and 8 kW with two trackers.

The suffix is therefore as important as the power number. Older and current datasheets can show different current limits, and a generic S6 3.6 kW description does not identify the M, standard or S family.

String design and grid connection

Each string must remain within the exact model’s operating-current, short-circuit-current and voltage limits, including open-circuit voltage at the design minimum temperature. The inverter rating also does not establish permitted export. Export control, grid application route and any site limit are separate design records.

Current highlighted pages give IP66 protection and describe optional monitoring or export-control interfaces. Monitoring depends on the installed logger, network and SolisCloud account.

The UK limited warranty effective from 1 July 2025 gives grid-tied inverters on sale five years, subject to its terms. Earlier production keeps its original warranty.

The rating label and serial number distinguish these overlapping families on an installed system.
