S5-GR3P is Solis’s current three-phase grid-tied solar inverter range for residential and small commercial arrays. It is not a hybrid inverter and has no direct battery connection.
Two overlapping current schedules
The core S5-GR3P(3-20)K page lists 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17 and 20 kW codes. Solis also publishes a higher-current S5-GR3P(12-20)K(21A) family with 12, 15, 17 and 20 kW variants. Both use two MPPTs, but their string-current schedules are not interchangeable.
The full suffix therefore matters on modern high-current modules. The panel string’s operating current, short-circuit current, open-circuit voltage at the design minimum temperature and tracker layout all need to fit the exact inverter datasheet.
Solis gives maximum efficiency of 98.7% and IP66 ingress protection for the current families. Those are product-level specifications, not an annual generation forecast. Array orientation, shading, clipping, grid voltage and downtime also affect delivered energy.
Grid connection and monitoring
The product pages list export-control support and optional consumption monitoring through a current transformer or meter. The export limit is an installed-system setting and may involve additional Solis equipment. Grid approval depends on the exact code and firmware entry in the relevant connection register, not on the S5 name alone.
The UK limited warranty effective from 1 July 2025 gives grid-tied inverters on sale five years, subject to its eligibility and exclusion terms. Products made earlier retain their original warranty.
The serial number and supplied warranty document remain the controlling evidence for an individual inverter.
