Current Solis S6 three-phase grid-tied inverters mainly occupy larger residential and commercial power classes. They are solar string inverters without a direct battery connection. Solis’s smaller residential three-phase section currently uses S5-GR3P products.
Current S6 families
S6-GC3P(20-30)K04-NV-ND-R lists 20, 27.6 and 30 kW variants with four MPPTs and eight string inputs. Solis presents it for larger residential and small commercial projects, including replacement applications.
S6-GC3P(25-36)K03-NV-ND lists 25, 30, 33 and 36 kW variants with three trackers. S6-GC3P(40-60)K-NV-ND covers 40, 50 and 60 kW classes with four or five trackers. The current pages give IP66 protection and model-dependent high-current string inputs.
The current commercial range continues with S6-GC(80-125)K in 80, 100, 110 and 125 kW classes using eight or ten trackers. The S6-GC3P150K07-NV-ND adds a 150 kW class with seven trackers. These are commercial or utility-scale products rather than alternatives for an ordinary domestic array.
The ranges overlap in rated power but have different tracker layouts, terminals and current schedules. A generic S6 three-phase description is insufficient for array design or replacement work.
Design and approval
Every string needs checking against the exact model’s operating voltage, maximum voltage, operating current and short-circuit-current limits. Replacement work also needs the grid connection record, export-control design, communications and any external protection to match the new code.
Monitoring and smart string functions depend on the logger and commissioned communications. They do not replace electrical testing or the installed generation meter.
The UK limited warranty effective from 1 July 2025 gives grid-tied inverters on sale five years, subject to its eligibility and exclusions.
Earlier production keeps the terms supplied with it. The serial number, invoice and commissioning certificate should remain with the system record.
