Vitocal 222-G is an indoor, compact ground source heat pump that combines the heat-pump module and a 220-litre domestic-hot-water cylinder in one casing.

Sizes and ratings

The three types are BWT 221.B06, B08 and B10. Their rated heating outputs at B0/W35 are 5.8, 7.5 and 10.4 kW. The corresponding coefficients of performance are 4.6, 4.6 and 4.8. The family SCOP is up to 5.5 for average-climate, low-temperature operation.

These are source and flow-temperature-specific test results. The ground array, building heat loss, flow temperature and hot-water demand still have to be designed for the installation.

Integrated equipment

The enamelled steel cylinder has a stated capacity of 220 litres. The maximum flow temperature is 65°C.

The published maximum sound power is 46 dB(A) at B0/W55. That is a sound-power rating at a defined operating point, not a room sound-pressure measurement.

Natural cooling is possible with the required accessory and a suitable system.

Status and warranty

Vitocal 222-G remains in Viessmann’s current UK ground source range. Warranty cover is two years as standard with a paid seven-year extension.
