Wallbox Pulsar Max is a connected home EV charger offered in tethered and socketed Type 2 forms. The current range has 7.4 kW single-phase and 11 or 22 kW three-phase versions, with charging current configurable from 6 A to the rated limit.

Versions and identification

The tethered version uses a 5 m cable, with 7 m available for applicable Type 2 versions. Socketed versions use a separate charging cable.

Current codes begin PLPX, followed by these configuration positions:

Position Codes and meaning
Output 0 5 m; M 7 m; W shuttered socket; A 5 m with shutters; B 7 m with shutters
Connector 2 Type 2
Power 2 7.4 kW; 3 11 kW; 4 22 kW
Feature 9 welding protection; F UK open-PEN protection
Custom XX1 white; XX2 black

For example, power code 4 selects the 22 kW three-phase hardware class; it does not identify the cable, socket or protection option without the other positions.

Protection and installation

The current 2025 specification is IP55 and IK10, with 6 mA DC residual-current detection and an external Type A RCD.

Wallbox’s 2022 UK launch material stated IP54, while the current datasheet and support overview use IP55. IP55 is the current schedule; an earlier unit retains the rating on its own label and dated instructions.

Smart charging and energy management

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connect the charger to the Wallbox app for schedules, remote start and pause, auto-lock and session data. Static load management is included. Dynamic load management and solar charging require a compatible external Wallbox meter.

Pulsar Max supports OCPP. Its exact protocol version is unconfirmed, so backend compatibility should be checked before procurement.

UK open-PEN protection belongs only to feature code F. Code 9 identifies welding protection instead, so the two protection options must not be treated as interchangeable.

Warranty

The warranty is five years for purchases from 1 October 2025, three years for purchases from 1 January 2022 to that date and two years before 2022, subject to the applicable terms.
