Wallbox Pulsar Plus is an earlier connected home-charger family retained in Wallbox support. Wallbox’s Great Britain smart-charging notice says Pulsar Plus is no longer compliant with the later regulations and is not available for new sale in that market. Existing units continue to receive support.

Tethered and socketed products

The tethered Pulsar Plus was offered in power versions up to 7.4 kW single-phase and 22 kW three-phase, with an attached vehicle cable and an IP54, IK08 enclosure.

Pulsar Plus Socket is a later shuttered Type 2 socket version with IP55 and IK10. It has 7.4, 11 and 22 kW classes, with the 22 kW unit limited to 11 kW during applicable installation.

Tethered codes begin PLP1. Output 0 means 5 m and M means 7 m; connector 1 is Type 1 and 2 is Type 2; power 2, 3 and 4 means 7.4, 11 and 22 kW; feature 9 is 6 mA DC protection and F adds earthing protection; XX1 is white and XX2 black.

The socket schedule has one complete structure: PSP1-W-2-4-9-XX2. It identifies a black shuttered Type 2 socket unit in the 22 kW hardware class with 6 mA DC protection. Its applicable installation limit remains 11 kW.

The two enclosure versions have different codes, protection ratings and impact ratings. Rating label, complete code and datasheet revision are needed for parts and protection checks.

Controls and energy management

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth provide app connectivity for schedules, remote start and pause, auto-lock and session data. Static load management, dynamic load management and solar charging are supported. On the socketed product, static load management is included while dynamic load management and solar charging are optional.

Pulsar Plus Socket uses OCPP 1.6j. Tethered Pulsar Plus is OCPP-compatible but has no assigned protocol version, so a socket backend requirement must not be assumed for every tethered unit.

The tethered F feature code adds earthing protection to 6 mA DC detection. Socket feature code 9 provides 6 mA DC protection without that earthing protection, so PEN protection is not a family-wide feature.

Warranty and replacement

The product warranty is three years.
