Zaptec Pro
Zaptec Pro is the earlier version of Zaptec's scalable managed-site charger, retained in the UK grant list and supported through current Pro firmware.

Zaptec Pro is the earlier generation of Zaptec’s managed-site AC charger. It is used in apartments, workplaces and other shared parking where multiple chargepoints divide the capacity available to the installation.
The later Zaptec Pro MID arrived in 2023 with a separately certified meter and display. Earlier Pro units remain supported through the shared firmware branch and keep their own entry in the UK grant list, so the full model identity matters when checking an installed charger.
Power and site architecture
Maximum output is 7.4 kW at 32 A single-phase or 22 kW at 32 A three-phase on a TN supply. Zaptec also documented 12.7 kW three-phase operation on IT supplies. These are charger limits rather than a guaranteed rate for every connected car.
Pro installations share available current between chargers. The system can also assign compatible single-phase vehicles across the phases and select between one-phase and three-phase charging. Output can therefore move as other vehicles connect and as building demand changes.
Power-line communication, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE-M connect the system and Zaptec cloud. The Zaptec Portal handles access, configuration and charging records, while RFID (radio-frequency identification) can associate a session with a user. Cloud-to-cloud OCPP 1.6J, API and webhook integrations are available for external management services.
Hardware and metering distinction
The chargepoint has a Type 2 socket with a self-closing cover and electronic cable lock. Internal protection includes three 40 A type C miniature circuit breakers and a Type B residual-current device. The installation still needs an upstream system design suitable for the shared circuit, earthing arrangement and site capacity.
The earlier product includes an energy meter, but it should not be described as the separately certified Pro MID charger. Where readings support employee reimbursement, tenant allocation or payment, the label and metering approval should be verified rather than inferred from the Pro enclosure.
The enclosure is IP54 and IK10, measures 392 by 258 by 112 mm and weighs approximately 5 kg with its backplate. The GOV.UK list dated 15 June 2026 retains Zaptec Pro at 22.1 kW for residential and commercial grants. A register entry does not show that an earlier generation remains available for new purchase.
