Battery-Box H 11.5 is the nine-module size from BYD’s superseded first-generation Battery-Box H range. It is not a current HVM 11.0 with its capacity rounded differently. The two products belong to different generations and use different battery modules.

Capacity and construction

The H 11.5 tower contains nine B-Plus H 1.28 modules connected in series. It has 11.52 kWh usable energy, a nominal voltage of 460 V and an operating range of 360 to 500 V. It uses LFP cells and has battery round-trip efficiency of at least 95.3% under the test conditions.

Maximum battery output is 11.52 kW, with a 23.04 kW peak for 30 seconds. The compatible inverter remained responsible for converting that DC output and setting the usable AC limit.

At 580 by 1,374 by 380 mm, this was the tallest single tower in the original H family. Its weight is 252 kg in the brochure and 242 kg in BYD’s V5.0 manual, so the installed version and product label should be checked where that difference matters. It has IP55 protection and an operating range from -10°C to 50°C, with derating below 12°C.

Inverter context

Battery-Box H used an external compatible inverter. The wider H family ran from four to nine modules.

Lifecycle and original warranty

The first-generation H family is superseded, while historical H batteries remain relevant to owners and engineers.

The 2018 European residential terms gave H 11.5 a ten-year product and performance period, ending earlier if its 32.0 MWh throughput limit was reached. The retained-energy figure was 60%. Territory, sale date, installation and other conditions decide whether that document applies to a particular battery.
