Battery-Box LV Flex is a 5 kWh low-voltage LFP battery module. It is DC battery hardware for use with a compatible external inverter, not a complete AC home storage system.
Battery-side specification
Nominal and usable energy are both 5.0 kWh. Nominal voltage is 51.2 V, the operating range is 43.2 to 57.6 V and maximum continuous output current is 70 A.
Rated DC power is 3.6 kW, while maximum charge and discharge power is 5.4 kW. Maximum charge and discharge current is 105 A, with a 105 A peak for five seconds. Those figures describe the battery module. The compatible inverter can impose a lower power or current limit and determines the AC output to the home.
Battery round-trip efficiency is at least 95% under BYD’s test conditions. This is not the round-trip efficiency of the complete battery-and-inverter system.
Indoor installation and compatibility
LV Flex is an IP20 indoor product. It measures 132 by 482 by 525 mm including the handle and limiting structures, weighs 47 kg and operates from -10°C to 50°C. Charge derating applies between -10°C and 15°C.
LV Flex is compatible with selected inverter models from Victron Energy, SMA, Selectronic, Fronius, GoodWe, Deye and Hoymiles. Compatibility remains specific to the inverter model, firmware and permitted battery count; a listed brand does not make every inverter from that manufacturer compatible.
UK status and warranty boundary
Current UK residential supply, support and warranty for LV Flex are unconfirmed. The ten-year product headline is not confirmed UK cover; the available residential terms apply to Australia and New Zealand.
