BYD Power-Box TH5-15K is a three-phase hybrid inverter for PV generation, high-voltage battery storage and three-phase backup. The range contains TH5K, TH6K, TH8K, TH10K, TH12K and TH15K models. It is current globally; UK supply and model-specific ENA status are unconfirmed.
PV and battery schedule
Nominal AC output steps through 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 15 kW. All models have two MPPTs, a 1,000 V maximum PV input and a 160 to 950 V tracking range. The 5 to 10 kW models accept 18 A on each tracker with one string per tracker. The 12 and 15 kW models provide two string inputs on the first tracker and one on the second, with tracker limits of 32 A and 18 A.
The 160 to 600 V battery input is specified for Battery-Box HVE and HVB. Maximum charge and discharge current is 25 A on the 5 to 10 kW models and 30 A on the 12 and 15 kW models. A current compatibility schedule is still needed for the exact battery configuration and firmware.
Backup and enclosure
The backup output is rated at model power. The five smaller models provide 150% peak apparent power for 60 seconds, while TH15K is capped at 18 kVA for the same period. Transfer time is 10 ms.
The IP66 enclosure measures 537 × 577 × 206 mm. The 5 to 10 kW models use natural cooling and weigh 26 kg, while the 12 and 15 kW models use smart fan cooling and weigh 29 kg.
Warranty boundary
The standard warranty is five years. An automatic extension to ten years requires monitoring, authorised installation and the qualifying battery condition, which names HVE for TH models.
