Battery-Box HVB is a modular high-voltage LFP battery in BYD Energy Storage’s current global residential range. It carries a UKCA mark. Current UK distribution, inverter approval and warranty cover remain unconfirmed.
Nine tower sizes
One tower contains two to ten 2.97 kWh HVB modules connected in series. The complete family map is:
| Model | Modules | Usable energy |
|---|---|---|
| HVB 5.9 | 2 | 5.94 kWh |
| HVB 8.9 | 3 | 8.91 kWh |
| HVB 11.8 | 4 | 11.88 kWh |
| HVB 14.8 | 5 | 14.85 kWh |
| HVB 17.8 | 6 | 17.82 kWh |
| HVB 20.7 | 7 | 20.79 kWh |
| HVB 23.7 | 8 | 23.76 kWh |
| HVB 26.7 | 9 | 26.72 kWh |
| HVB 29.6 | 10 | 29.69 kWh |
Maximum output current is 50 A, rising to 98 A for 15 seconds across the range. Up to three identical towers can operate in parallel, with a maximum capacity of 89.07 kWh. These are battery-side values. AC power and backup performance still depend on the external inverter and wider system design.
Enclosure and operating limits
HVB is floor-mounted and rated IP55. The operating range is -20°C to 50°C. Maximum current can vary with temperature, state of charge and the connected inverter; a fixed low-temperature derating interval is unconfirmed. Battery round-trip efficiency is at least 95% under the specified conditions.
European warranty and UK status
The European residential warranty available on 22 July 2026 applies to HVB products purchased in Europe on or after 1 September 2025. It provides a 15-year product warranty and performance cover until the earlier of 15 years at 70% retained usable energy or the model’s minimum throughput. The throughput schedule runs from 18.41 MWh for HVB 5.9 to 92.03 MWh for HVB 29.6. Warranty start, authorised supply, compatible-inverter and operating conditions remain part of the terms.
Those European terms and the UKCA marking establish a UK-relevant document route, but not current UK stock or approval with every inverter. New-supply availability therefore remains unconfirmed.
