IQ7 is Enphase’s preceding panel-level microinverter generation. The current European datasheet includes IQ7-60-M-INT, IQ7PLUS-72-M-INT and IQ7A-72-M-INT, with maximum apparent powers of 245 VA, 295 VA and 366 VA respectively.

Availability and support

Enphase’s UK documentation centre continues to publish IQ7 data, certifications, warranty and troubleshooting material. The current UK store concentrates on IQ8 products, although Enphase’s current comparison page still includes IQ7A. Current new UK supply therefore needs checking at exact-SKU level rather than treating every IQ7 variant as either current or discontinued.

Installed IQ7 arrays remain part of the supported ecosystem. The current Great Britain warranty schedule still lists defined IQ7, IQ7+, IQ7A and IQ7X SKUs.

Models are not interchangeable

IQ7-60-M-INT has a 16 to 48 V input range and 27 to 37 V tracking window. IQ7PLUS-72-M-INT extends to 60 V with a 27 to 45 V tracking window. IQ7A-72-M-INT uses an 18 to 58 V range and a narrower 38 to 43 V tracking window.

Those differences are at least as important as AC power. A replacement must be compatible with the panel’s temperature-adjusted voltage and current, connector, IQ Cable, gateway software and branch design.

Mixing generations

Current Great Britain IQ8 documentation allows IQ8 units to be added to an existing IQ7 system on the same gateway only in stated configurations. It also says IQ7 cannot simply be added to a site that already has IQ8 on that gateway. Mixed-generation rules are directional and system-specific.

Neither generation normally provides UK solar-only power during a grid failure. Backup depends on the supported battery, controller and system topology.

The current Great Britain warranty gives listed IQ7 SKUs 25 years from activation, subject to registration, internet connection through an IQ Gateway and the other terms. It defines the territory as Scotland, England and Wales. Northern Ireland needs its applicable document, while earlier activation dates may be governed by a different schedule.
