IQ8 is a current Enphase microinverter generation in the UK. The current range includes IQ8MC, IQ8AC, IQ8HC, IQ8X and IQ8P.

Current UK models

The five current codes occupy distinct input and output positions:

  • IQ8MC is rated at 325 W, with 330 W maximum AC output and a 25 to 45 V MPPT window.
  • IQ8AC is rated at 360 W, with 366 W maximum AC output and a 28 to 45 V MPPT window.
  • IQ8HC is rated at 380 W, with 384 W maximum AC output and a 29.5 to 45 V MPPT window.
  • IQ8X shares the 380 W and 384 W AC figures but uses a higher 43 to 60 V MPPT window.
  • IQ8P is rated at 475 W, with 480 W maximum AC output, a 36 to 55 V MPPT window and 97.0% European weighted efficiency.

IQ8MC, IQ8AC, IQ8HC and IQ8P allow 14 A maximum input current and 25 A maximum short-circuit input current. IQ8X instead allows 10 A and 16 A respectively.

Module and branch design

Voltage, current and AC branch matching are model-specific. Wattage alone does not establish compatibility, and IQ8HC cannot be substituted for IQ8X merely because their AC ratings match.

Gateway, mixing and backup

IQ8 units can be added to specified existing IQ7 systems, but IQ7 units cannot be added to a site with existing IQ8 units on the same gateway.

IQ8’s grid-forming technology does not establish UK solar-only outage operation.

The Great Britain warranty is 25 years in Scotland, England and Wales, conditional on an internet-connected IQ Gateway and the remaining terms. Northern Ireland needs its applicable document.
