Enphase IQ9N-A-INT is a current panel-level solar microinverter using gallium nitride semiconductor technology. Enphase announced on 11 June 2026 that shipments through UK distribution partners had begun on 5 June 2026.

Published electrical details

Enphase publishes 427 VA continuous output, support for 16 A continuous DC input current and 97.44% European weighted efficiency. It also gives a peak efficiency of up to 97.95%. These are product figures under the manufacturer’s test basis, not a forecast for a particular roof.

The solar module still needs to remain inside the IQ9N input-voltage, current and connector limits at the design temperature extremes. A module’s wattage alone does not establish compatibility. Enphase’s module calculator and the current datasheet for the exact panel should be used together, including any bifacial current contribution.

System compatibility

IQ9N connects on the AC side through the specified Enphase cabling and needs a compatible IQ Gateway for commissioning, monitoring, control and software updates. Branch count depends on the microinverter current, cable, protective device, phase arrangement, voltage rise and local grid requirements.

Enphase describes IQ9N as backward compatible with IQ7 and IQ8 systems, but its installation material places limits on mixed-generation expansion. IQ9N can be added to stated existing IQ7 or IQ8 configurations, while earlier units cannot simply be added in the reverse direction to every IQ9N site. The gateway, battery and backup topology must match the current compatibility rules.

Backup and warranty boundaries

IQ9N is a solar inverter, not a battery or grid-isolation device. A normal solar-only system does not remain energised during a grid outage. Supported backup requires compatible Enphase storage, an IQ System Controller and a designed protected-load arrangement.

The Great Britain warranty schedule effective from 30 September 2025 lists IQ9N-A-INT for 25 years from activation, subject to registration, continuous gateway connection and the full terms. It defines the territory as Scotland, England and Wales. Northern Ireland needs the warranty applicable to its territory and activation date.

The handover pack should preserve the panel pairing, array map, gateway details and every microinverter serial number.
